What are lip fillers and how do they work?

Lip fillers are injectable treatments that use hyaluronic acid gel to add volume, definition, and shape to the lips. The gel integrates with your natural tissue, attracts moisture, and creates a soft, natural-looking fullness. Results are visible immediately and last between six and twelve months.

Are lip fillers safe for everyone?

Lip fillers are generally very safe when carried out by a trained, qualified practitioner. They are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone with an active infection at the treatment site. If you have a history of cold sores, allergies, or autoimmune conditions, let your practitioner know so appropriate precautions can be taken.

How much do lip fillers cost in London?

At our South Woodford clinic, 0.5ml of lip filler starts at £170 and 1ml at £220. Prices vary between clinics and practitioners, so it is always worth checking that your provider is fully qualified and uses high-quality products.

What happens during a lip filler appointment?

The appointment typically lasts around 30 to 45 minutes. It starts with a consultation where we discuss your goals and plan the treatment. A numbing cream is applied, and the filler is then injected carefully into the lips. You will see an immediate result, with the final shape becoming clearer over the following two weeks as swelling settles.
